Alzheimer’s and dementia care requires a compassionate and loving environment, and Lily’s Promise offers this atmosphere with a very special legacy. The owner of the Sarasota and Bradenton facilities opened the community in honor of his mother, and it is her name and promise the home is built on. Their small residence prides itself on several significant differences that distinguish them from larger group homes.
Here are some of the facts that Lily’s Promise would like you to know:
- Two caregivers care for the six residents during the busy hours of the day, while a third staff member is in charge of activities. There is a full-time caregiver present overnight as well. This 3:1 ratio is far below the 12:1 average in many larger facilities.
- While state licensing requires 212 caregiver hours per week, Lily’s Promise operates with 276 caregiver hours per week in order to offer the best care and safety.
- Our small, friendly staff will provide your loved one with consistency in care, cultivating meaningful relationships with people who become familiar to them. The small staff and number of residents allow for more personalized care.
- The staff proactively assists residents with toileting every 2 to 3 hours in order to decrease the incidence of UTIs and incontinence.
- A small building feels more like home and creates an environment the residents feel confident navigating when going to meals or attending activities. The home is located in a residential neighborhood and presents a genuine “home” experience.
- Meals are prepared from locally sourced, high-quality meat and vegetables whenever possible.
- Lily’s Promise offers a flat fee without a la carte pricing – all services are included.
The Promise is in The Name
In staying true to its name, Lily’s Promise operates under a series of promises they make to residents. These include:
- A promise to treat residents with love and compassion, fostering a relationship of trust and comfort.
- A promise to treat residents with dignity and respect, hire staff with a true passion for the care of seniors, and maintain a zero-tolerance policy for any inappropriate behavior.
- A promise to offer the highest standards of care, working with families, physicians, home health, and hospice to ensure each resident has all the care and resources they require.
- A promise to cultivate a home-like and serene environment that caters to dementia and Alzheimer’s patients, keeping stress and anxiety to a minimum and creating a peaceful atmosphere.
- A promise to make decisions with the utmost level of integrity, ethics, and moral values.
Each Lily’s Promise residence comfortably accommodates six residents in a comfortable and navigable home. Residents are given the option of utilizing the furniture that the home provides or bringing their own furniture to create a familiar environment. The staff encourages families to help the resident to choose items, mementos, photos, and decor that is special to them to personalize their space.
The goal at Lily’s Promise is to keep residents active and engaged and to avoid residents sitting alone in their rooms. Residents can most often be found in common areas, such as the dining room and porch, or enjoying the outdoor activities and entertainment arranged by the staff.
