Elizabeth Covers Bradenton and Sarasota. Elizabeth’s love of working with seniors started as a small child! Growing up in a large family, she learned the art of caregiving while watching her family of origin lovingly care for her live-in grandmother. She found immense satisfaction in helping with hands-on care in the way of assistance with dressing, food preparation, housekeeping, help using a telephone, etc. When her grandmother could no longer read because of poor eyesight, she delighted in reading her grandmother’s stories from her beloved Readers Digest Magazine Elizabeth sees herself as a natural-born advocate for the elderly; as such she has made a career of helping seniors and their families.
Elizabeth’s passion as a certified Geriatric Care Manager is driven by the desire to put people at ease while having to make important decisions about the care needs and living environment for themselves and/or their loved ones.
During her career, she has done many jobs in senior care including home care management, community outreach, sales, and caregiver training, and in 2015 created her own Geriatric Care Management business providing care management services in the states of Florida and Maine. She has over 12 years of experience working with seniors; conducting assessments, meeting with families, and collaborating with healthcare professionals. Over the years she has participated on boards and groups which oversee senior care issues and always remains active in her community.
She has developed a professional network of providers who work in assisted living communities, nursing homes, hospitals, home care, and home health agencies. Her extensive experience provides peace of mind and quality of care, especially during times of transition that many can find stressful.
Elizabeth has a BA in Public Affairs/Journalism from Keene State College and a Graduate Certificate in Geriatric Care Management from The University of Florida School of Gerontology. She is also certified as a “Matter of Balance” and “Alzheimer’s Habituation” trainer. Currently, Elizabeth is a volunteer at Tidewell Hospice of Manatee/Sarasota as well as an active member of The Service Club of Manatee.
