On December 17, 2024, the Holly Jolly Trolley Christmas Parade lit up Manatee County. Seniors and the whole community enjoyed laughter, smiles, and joyful holiday moments. Organized by Home Helpers Home Care of Bradenton, this magical event celebrated the joy of Christmas while spreading warmth and love to those who needed it most.

At My Care Finders, we were proud to sponsor this memorable event and join hands in spreading holiday cheer. Our representatives, Allie Hanson and Brenda Bates, added energy and compassion to the parade. They made seniors feel valued and part of the holiday celebrations.

A Celebration of Community and Connection

The parade aimed to address a significant challenge many seniors face during the holidays—loneliness. Seniors in assisted living facility, memory care communities, or skilled nursing facilities often spend this time away from family members. The Holly Jolly Trolley event made sure these cherished community members felt remembered and appreciated.

Decked out in festive decorations, the trolley, led by none other than Santa Claus, visited six senior living communities:

  • Surrey Place Health & Rehabilitation Center
  • Brookdale Point West
  • Heritage Park Care & Rehabilitation Center
  • The Windsor of Bradenton
  • Inspired Living Hidden Lakes
  • Water’s Edge of Bradenton

At each stop, residents and staff members joined in singing Christmas carols, jingling festive bell bracelets, and even dancing. Some residents took the lead, filling the air with holiday magic as they sang their favorite carols. These moments created lasting memories, with seniors sharing that it felt like celebrating with family.

How My Care Finders Made a Difference

Allie Hanson and Brenda Bates represented My Care Finders with pride and joy. From helping distribute bell bracelets to participating in carol singing, they were at the heart of the festivities. Their dedication was evident in the smiles of the seniors they interacted with and the bonds they helped strengthen.

Brenda shared, “It was an honor to be part of something so special. Seeing the joy on the residents’ faces reminded me of the importance of connection, especially during the holidays.”

Spreading Cheer Beyond the Trolley

The joy didn’t stop at the senior communities. As the trolley traveled through Manatee County, passersby in cars, parking lots, and sidewalks waved and sang along. The holiday spirit was contagious, radiating far beyond the parade route. The event touched everyone, including volunteers like Terra, who called it the best Christmas gift she could ever receive.
